Background

The EU Green Deal is Europe’s response to the Climate Change Challenge.  It is a new economic growth strategy decoupled from resource use that aims to transform the EU into a fair and prosperous society, with a modern, resource efficient and competitive economy with no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050.  Key to this initiative is the creation of a circular economy which focuses on the sustainable utilisation of finite resources for product design & manufacture, concentrating on the product life cycle,  the removal or designing out waste, while extending the life of the product to generate a zero waste future.

Packaging for the Food & Beverage sectors has been at the forefront of this trend, driven by EU legalization & consumer sentiment.  The European Union’s 2018 framework promoting the ‘circular economy’ requires that all packaging be recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2030.  This webinar will highlight the challenges and solutions for Irish companies across the supply chain for Food & Beverage Packaging.  The keynote speakers for this event include:
