AN ACT for the conservation of wildlife (including game) and for that purpose to protect certain wild creatures and flora, to enable a body to be known in the Irish language as an Chomhairle um Fhiadhulra and in the English language as the wildlife advisory council to be established and to define its functions, to enable certain other bodies to be established to provide or administer certain services, to enable reserves and refuges for wildlife to be established and maintained, to enable dealing in and movement of wildlife to be regulated and controlled, to make certain provisions relating to land, inland waters and the territorial seas of the state, to amend certain enactments and to make other provisions connected with the foregoing.

S.I. No. 235/1975 – Factories (Noise) Regulations, 1975

These regulations require that persons shall not be exposed to sound pressure levels which may damage their hearing. Areas of a workplace where the sound pressure level exceeds 90 dBA should be clearly marked. Persons employed in those areas should be provided with ear protection and the duration and level of exposure should be controlled so as to reduce the possibility of impairment of hearing.

S.I. No. 226/1975 – Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Sligo) (Amendment) Regulations, 1975

These Regulations add the Lough Gill Regional Water Supply to the list of public water supplies required by the regulations of 1965 to be fluoridated

S.I. No. 107/1975 – The European Communities (Detergents) (No. 2) Regulations, 1975

The purpose of these Regulations is to give legal effect to Council Directive 73/404/EEC.

This Directive requires Member States to prohibit the placing on the market and the use of detergents where the average level of biodegradability (i.e. ability to be broken down by bacteria) of certain essential constituents is less than 90%. It also provides that the name of the product and the name or trade name and address or trademark of the party responsible for placing the product on the market appear on the packaging in which the detergents are put up for sale to the consumer and on all documents accompanying detergents transported in bulk.
