These Regulations revoke the European Communities (Quality of Bathing Water) Regulations, 1988 and the European Communities (Quality of Bathing Water) (Amendment) Regulations, 1989, which gave effect to Council Directive No. 76/160/EEC of 8th December, 1975 (O.J. No. L31/1, 5 February, 1976) concerning the quality of bathing water and which have been replaced by the Quality of Bathing Waters Regulations, 1992.>

S.I. No. 356/1991 – European Communities (Vehicle Testing) Regulations, 1991

The Regulations provide for the phased extension of compulsory roadworthiness testing to light goods vehicles over 4 years old, every 2 years by 1st January, 1995, as required by Council Directive 88/449/EEC of 26th July, 1988.(1)

The Regulations also set out revised fees for the testing of various categories of vehicles by authorised testing stations; and related documentation fees payable to motor tax offices

The Regulations also clarify the exemption of agricultural trailers from compulsory roadworthiness testing

The Regulations consolidate, with technical amendments, vehicle testing Regulations dating back to 1981.

S.I. No. 185/1991 – Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations, 1991

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Removal, Storage and Disposal of Vehicles) Regulations, 1983 by increasing from £50 to £75 the charge for the release of a vehicle payable to a road authority or the Garda Commissioner by the owner of a vehicle which has been towed away in accordance with the Regulations and by increasing from £15 to £25 per day the storage charge payable for the period during which such vehicles have been stored.

S.I. No. 183/1991 – European Communities (Use of Sewage Sludge in Agriculture) Regulations, 1991

These Regulations prescribe standards for the use of sewage sludge in agriculture. The Regulations give effect to Council Directive No. 86/278/EEC of 12th June, 1986 (O.J. No. L.181/6, 4th July, 1986), relating to the protection of the environment and in particular of the soil when sewage sludge is used in agriculture.
