Council Directive of 2 April 1979 on the conservation of wild birds (79/409/EEC) provides for the conservation of wild birds by, among other things, classifying important ornithological sites as Special Protection Areas for them.

The effect of these Regulations is to classify an additional seven sites as Special Protection Areas in accordance with Article 4 of the Directive and to provide that contravention of the provisions of these Regulations shall constitute an offence.

This Order, which should be read in conjunction with section 82 (3) of the 1992 Act, specifies dates on or after which the established activities concerned are required to have applied to the Environmental Protection Agency for an integrated pollution control licence.

These Regulations prohibit the issue of first licences for certain new vehicles from 1 January, 1997 unless the vehicles conform to the air pollutant emission control requirements of Directive 9¼41/EEC as amended by Directive 94/12/EC. Exceptions are made, in accordance with Directive 93/81/EEC, for certain "end of series" vehicles for a limited period subject to specified conditions. It is also permitted to issue first licences prior to 1 January, 1997 where vehicles conform to the requirements of either Directive 93/59/EEC or Directive 94/12/EC.

This Order appoints the 10th day of July, 1995, as the day on which the Heritage Council shall be established

This Order declares that the countries specified in Part I of the Schedule thereto have accepted the Protocol Relating to Intervention on the High Seas in Cases of Pollution by Substances other than Oil, 1973 and that the Protocol extends to the Territories specified in Part II of the Schedule

This Order declares that the countries specified in Part I of the Schedule thereto have accepted the International Convention Relating to Intervention on the High Seas in Cases of Oil Pollution Casualties, 1969 and that the Convention extends to the Territories specified in Part II of the Schedule
