IRISH ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATION

These Regulations give effect to European Parliament and Council Directive 94/22/EC of 30 May 1994 on the conditions for granting and using authorisations for the prospection, exploration and production of hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas).

These Regulations implement EU Council Directive 94/67/EC of 16 December, 1994 on the incineration of hazardous waste. The Directive specifies certain standards and other requirements to be applied in relation to certain types of incinerators. The Regulations provide for implementation of the Directive in the context of the licensing system operated by the EPA in relation to such facilities under the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 .

These Regulations implement Commission Decision No. 96/449/EC of 18 July 1996 concerning heat treatment for the processing of animal protein with a view to the inactivation of spongiform encephalopathy agents.

The purpose of this Order is to commence, with effect from 26 February 1998, certain provisions of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1997 (No. 23 of 1997), so as to pave the way for the introduction of a new regulatory system for aquaculture (including the establishment of a statutory Aquaculture Licences Appeals Board) with effect from 1 April 1998.

This Order extends the term of office of the Southern Regional Fisheries Commission until 31st December, 1998

These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 96/39/EC of 19 June, 1996 amending Council Directive 93/73/EEC concerning minimum requirements for vessels bound for or leaving Community ports and carrying dangerous or polluting goods. These Regulations also amend the European Communities (Minimum Requirements for vessels Carrying Dangerous or Polluting Goods) Regulations, 1995, accordingly.

These Regulations implement Commission Decision No. 97/735/EC of 21 October 1997 concerning certain protection measures with regard to trade in certain types of mammalian animal waste.

These Regulations extend the transitional technical arrangements until 30 June, 1998 for establishing compliance with Directive 94/12/EC concerning emissions from mechanically propelled vehicles.
