GreenStart Project Objectives
The main objective of the project is to increase Environmental performance at Castle Group Modular through the development of an Environmental Management System.
1. Improve environmental awareness,
2. Secure environmental compliance,
3. Establish best practices in waste and energy management.
Key Challenges

Due to the current pandemic about 50% of the support work was carried out off site. This challenge has slowed down the progress.

Key Changes

We have a robust Environmental Management System developed that will help us deliver and secure environmental compliance, enhance our environmental performance and continuously improve and embed environmental practices into our days to day operations.

Results

56% reduction in energy usage will be delivered with the installation of LED lights, which is a saving of 5,563 kg’s CO2 annually

Tiles waste recycling will not reduce waste disposal cost, however, will divert this waste from landfill. The materials will be crushed and screened and then are used as secondary aggregates for concrete products, which will be a much favourable an environmentally friendly method of disposal.

Through the implementation of the ISO 14001 system environmental aspects of our business will be embedded in the day to day function of the company and will continuously improve our environmental impact and will deliver further savings.

By implementing appropriate chemical management and emergency response on site, not only will protect the environment but also will protect our employees and contractors.
